About the Role
Join Biffa Waste Services at our Trafford Park depot and be part of a team that keeps the iconic "Big Red Trucks" running across the UK. With over 100 years of history, Biffa is transforming the way people think about waste. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements. You will carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa’s operator’s licence commitments.
Our diverse fleet ranges from light commercial vans to 44t articulated specialist assets, providing excellent opportunities to develop and expand your technical knowledge. Whether you are a skilled or semi-skilled Technician, we offer upskilling and career development opportunities. Previous experience in roles such as PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, HGV Technician, or HGV Mechanic is highly valued.

Experience
Fully skilled with a full Level 3 HGV/PSV apprentice qualification, City and Guilds qualification, or NVQ qualification at Technician level.
Previous experience in similar roles is preferred but semi-skilled candidates are encouraged to apply for upskilling opportunities.

Qualifications
Minimum of a car/van driving licence is required.
HGV licence desirable.
IRTEC qualification desirable.
