About the Role
Join Biffa Waste Services at our Trafford Park Depot and become part of a team that keeps the iconic "Big Red Trucks" running across the UK. With over 100 years of history, Biffa is committed to changing the way people think about waste. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements. You will carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa’s operator’s licence commitments. Our diverse fleet ranges from light commercial vans to 44t articulated specialist assets, providing excellent opportunities to develop and expand your technical skills. Experience
Fully skilled with a full Level 3 HGV/PSV apprentice qualification, City and Guilds, or NVQ qualification at Technician level. Previous roles such as PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, HGV Technician, or HGV Mechanic are highly relevant. Semi-skilled technicians are also encouraged to apply as training and development opportunities are available.

About you
Must hold a minimum of a car/van driving licence. An HGV licence is desirable. IRTEC qualification is also desirable. You should be motivated to learn and develop your skills within a supportive and inclusive working environment.

Qualifications
Full Level 3 HGV/PSV apprentice qualification, City and Guilds, or NVQ qualification at Technician level is required. Additional qualifications such as IRTEC are desirable but not essential.
