About the Role
The High Voltage Manager (HVM) role holds asset and contractor management responsibilities for the high voltage infrastructure across Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Onshore Wind farms. The HVM has delegated accountability for the HV network and associated equipment on allocated sites. This role involves planning, implementation, and reporting of all activities related to the HV network, with a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards while maximising production.
The HVM acts as the primary operational interface with Distribution Network Operators (DNO), National Grid, internal Site Managers, and is the key contact for Construction and Development teams on HV network matters.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the health, safety, and environmental management of all HV apparatus and personnel on site; managing contractor safety through review of documentation such as Risk Assessments and Method Statements; preparing, reviewing, and implementing HV Operations & Maintenance plans; conducting regular safety audits and ensuring timely resolution of actions; managing maintenance contractors to ensure routine maintenance and safety-critical device checks are completed on schedule; supporting HV system designs, modifications, and tendering activities related to HV infrastructure.
Experience
A technical qualification in Electrical Engineering with proven experience in the Energy Industry, preferably renewables, and a demonstrable history of managing HV systems. Experience operating within safety, environmental, and operational policies, frameworks, and statutory legislation is essential. Experience in Contract Management and HSE management is required.
Training in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and Financial Management Systems (SAP PM/MM) is desirable.

Qualifications
A suitable Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Working Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate is required.
