Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby and overtime opportunities available, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000 - £10,000 upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Additional standby rota payments and overtime can increase earning potential by up to £8,000 - £10,000 per annum after training completion.

About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at Crossness Sewage Treatment Works. Your role will be to ensure all equipment at the waste treatment site is safe and running efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance. You will investigate plant failures, diagnose complex faults, and perform repairs promptly to avoid process interruptions. You will provide technical advice, support, and training to technical trainees as required.
Equipment you will work on includes motors, gearboxes, screw and chain conveyors, centrifuges, various pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
You will also complete statutory checks and always work safely, complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.

Experience
Experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or engineering environment is essential. Ability to investigate and repair complex mechanical faults efficiently is required.

About you
You must be physically fit to work in confined spaces following appropriate training. A strong awareness of health and safety issues is crucial. You should be proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. A valid driving licence is essential.

Qualifications
ONC/HNC in Engineering, NVQ, or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required.
