Location
South West London - Kingston (KT1 3BW) and Surrey, with occasional travel across the wider Thames Water area as business needs require. A full clean UK driving licence is essential due to travel between multiple sites.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 15:36

Salary
Up to £36,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

About the Role
As a Strategic Field Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Strategic Network Upgrade program across the South London area. You will take ownership of Network Upgrade projects, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, and provide support to team members within the group. Your responsibilities will include supporting network activities during asset failures while ensuring water quality compliance, minimising supply interruptions, liaising with customers, and resolving issues efficiently to maintain excellent service delivery.
You will develop and maintain strong working relationships across the clean water business and support Network Asset Maintenance during Network Events to help meet business targets. Acting as a local network expert, you will provide critical information for risk assessments and share knowledge regarding network risks and Health & Safety concerns.
Investigating the clean water network to resolve poor asset performance issues such as pressure irregularities, leakage, metering queries, and supply interruptions will be a key part of your role. This position requires a proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.

Requirements

Experience
- In-depth knowledge of the clean water network, including domestic plumbing, water mains, and leakage detection
- Proven experience in project or work coordination with strong communication skills across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated customer service ethic with a track record of delivering improvements for both internal and external customers
- Experience working on large scale water network projects is desirable
- Familiarity with IT systems including MS Teams; experience with GIS, Z-One, and Sample Manager software is advantageous

Qualifications
- A water industry qualification in operating water networks or equivalent is desirable
- Completion of relevant operational water networks training and proven water networks competency is advantageous
