Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum depending on skills and experience

About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team within the Wastewater Division. You will use your electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimum supervision. Your work will ensure all sites remain operational, benefiting our customers and helping to reduce pollution from our sites, making a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing of yourself and others by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines. You will work on equipment such as drives, various pumps, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems including VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, and variable speed drives.

You will undertake both reactive and planned maintenance, respond to alarms, fault find, fix or escalate issues, and install new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations. Accurate recording of work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying future risks, and recommending changes will be part of your daily duties.

Additionally, you will provide specialist technical advice, coach and develop staff including apprentices, and deliver excellent customer service by interacting professionally and respectfully with all internal and external customers.

All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.

Experience
- Time-served electrical apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working with drives, motors, control systems, and programmable logic controllers.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement solutions or escalate when necessary.
- Experience working with minimum supervision and under own initiative.

Qualifications
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations preferred but training can be provided.
