38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 3:45 pm; 1 week out of 5 on night shift from 9:00 pm – 5:30 am. Opportunity to be included on the standby rota with additional payment.

About the Role
We are hiring a Trunk Sewer Technician to join our Strategic Pumping & Trunks Operations Team. You will be responsible for maintaining and operating the trunk sewer network and its associated assets across North West London. The role involves completing planned, emergency, and defect maintenance, including physical upkeep of sewer assets such as penstock gates. You will operate plant and equipment, perform cleaning, basic maintenance, and fault-finding tasks. This position requires working in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting heavy loads; full training will be provided. The work environment includes some of London’s most challenging subterranean areas, requiring physical fitness and adherence to health and safety standards.

Experience
Previous experience in maintenance or a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
About you
You must be physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment daily, including manual handling of large mechanical assets and grounds maintenance. A proactive approach and ability to work positively and effectively within a team are essential. You should be motivated, demonstrate initiative, and have a flexible approach to work. For health and safety reasons, you will be required to be clean-shaven to wear respiratory protective equipment (RPE) correctly.
Qualifications
A valid UK driving licence is ideal but not essential; HGV training can be provided.
