About the Role
Your primary function in this role is to load and sort waste using mobile plant machinery, ensuring compliance with the site environmental permit and municipal contract. Key responsibilities include assisting with MRF plant blockages while ensuring compliance with health and safety rules and regulations, assisting with MRF plant cleaning when needed, and working in accordance with QHSE policies including reporting close calls and incidents. You will be involved in best practice and continuous improvement by undertaking regular site audits and checks, managing stock control and accurate reporting of contract and non-contract waste, and complying with changes to company standards and legislation. Additional duties include providing light maintenance of equipment, assisting the site supervisor in reviewing maintenance activities, cost control, health and safety, behavioural safety observations, KPIs, and implementing necessary remedial actions in the event of variance. Ensuring the highest level of housekeeping is maintained is also essential.

Experience
Previous mobile plant experience (e.g. FLT, Telehandler, loading shovel, ro/ro, TUG). Knowledge of MRF operations is essential.
About you
Willingness to learn and undertake studies to obtain a Level 2 City and Guilds Qualification in Sustainable Waste Management. Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance. Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company and externally. A full UK car driving licence is required.
