About the Role
As a Mobile Plant Operator at Biffa Waste Services, you will maintain and operate mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently within a busy landfill environment. You will work both unsupervised and under the direction of the site supervisor or management team. Key responsibilities include following site instructions and adhering to the landfill traffic management plan, maintaining bunds, signage and roadways to ensure safe operations for customers and plant operators, and performing daily maintenance checks on site plant with prompt reporting of any defects. You will operate plant equipment according to training and site rules, ensuring compliance with safety protocols such as the 5m rule and reversing procedures. Additional duties involve dust control by dampening roads and tip faces, controlling mud on site and peripheral roads, pest control including birds, flies and rodents, odour control by maintaining odour control systems, managing waste operations at the tipping area, and litter control using fixed and mobile netting and screens.

Experience
CPCS or equivalent mobile plant training certification required. Relevant experience in waste or environmental operations is essential. Ability to carry out essential daily maintenance of site plant.
