About the Role

We typically work on projects of scale or a high degree of complexity across the energy, water and transport sectors.

As a Principal Environmental Consultant, you will work independently to maintain client and stakeholder relationships while delivering high-quality outputs. You will develop a track record of successfully leading complex projects, applying your expertise, knowledge, and experience to make sound decisions and provide innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

You will develop and align knowledge and tactical strategies in line with business priorities and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to add value and support business objectives. You will be accountable for your own and/or your team’s performance, applying effective delegation where appropriate.

Your responsibilities will include managing client relationships, coordinating and preparing high-quality environmental reports such as screenings, scoping reports, optioneering reports, and environmental assessment reports including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports. You will work collaboratively with engineering colleagues and clients to pre-empt risk, inform design (including nature inclusive design), and mitigate impacts by avoidance.

Experience
- Degree level or equivalent education in a related field
- Experience in a Lead Co-ordinator or Project Manager role for the delivery of planning and environmental services in Ireland
- Thorough understanding of environmental impacts associated with major projects
- Proven experience delivering EIAs and other environmental assessments across a range of sectors
- Excellent reporting ability with examples available
- Robust knowledge of consenting regimes in Ireland
- Collaborative and supportive approach to working with colleagues and clients

Qualifications
- Chartered status and Full Membership of a recognised relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA) is desirable
