About the Role
Join AECOM’s Investigations and Remediation team as a Principal Geo-environmental Consultant and play a key role in delivering ground investigation, contamination assessment, and remediation projects. You will act as project manager and provide technical direction across a wide range of sectors including transportation, industrial, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, renewables, defence, public bodies, and government agencies. You will prepare fee proposals, lead projects from desk study and feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design, and provide technical steer for conceptual site models and remediation strategies. This role involves client-facing delivery, project management, commercial and contract management, mentoring and line management of junior staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will be part of a dynamic, award-winning team of over 100 technical experts working collaboratively across the UK and Ireland on projects ranging from small initiatives to large-scale ventures such as Thames Tideway, HS2, Net Zero Teeside, and A303 Stonehenge. Experience
- Proven expertise in contaminated land assessment and management across a wide range of projects
- Experience managing commercial and contractual aspects of project delivery
- Client and stakeholder management experience
- Hands-on experience in field investigation including site management, drilling supervision, and sample collection
- Proven ability to produce, review, and approve technical reports
- Understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and site management

Qualifications
- Degree in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline
- Chartered status through a recognised institution such as the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) or The Geological Society of London (others will be considered)
