Our Nature Services Team is expanding, and we are seeking a Principal or Senior Associate Environmental Consultant to join us in embedding nature at the heart of development.
In this role, you will combine technical expertise, analytical thinking, and innovation to support clients in making informed, sustainable decisions. You will deliver natural capital and ecosystem services assessments, contribute to environmental impact assessments, and help develop environmental net gain strategies for major projects. You will also help shape digital tools and approaches that improve efficiency and insight in environmental assessment work.

Experience
- Degree in environmental science, ecology, geography, natural capital, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in environmental consultancy, regulatory bodies, academia, or similar settings with skills in natural capital, ecosystem services, or environmental assessment.
- Strong understanding of natural capital principles, ecosystem services, and their role in environmental planning, sustainability, and nature-positive outcomes.
- Knowledge of UK environmental legislation, policy, and planning processes.
- Experience preparing clear, concise technical outputs such as assessments, appraisals, reports, and option appraisals.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.

Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject is advantageous.
- Membership or working towards chartership with professional bodies such as IEMA, IES, CIEEM, CIWEM, or equivalent.
- Experience applying natural capital approaches to infrastructure, water, transport, energy, planning, or land-use projects.
- Proficiency in GIS or other geospatial and data-analysis tools.
- Experience with environmental net gain, biodiversity net gain, ecosystem service mapping, carbon sequestration assessment, or related mapping.
- Commercial awareness including involvement in bids, proposals, client discussions, or service development.
- Interest in innovation, digital tools, and new approaches to environmental monitoring and decision-support.
