About the Role
Murphy is recruiting for a Civil Project Manager to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework. Our business is well-known for its extensive in-house expertise, experience, and continuous drive to innovate within the industry to create added value for all our customers. We support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects in four countries, ensuring energy security for decades to come. We offer a wide range of services including design, construction, and commissioning, delivering Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects serving both regulated and private customers along with technical and engineering solutions within the conventional power and energy transition markets. Our continual drive to innovate, while encouraging sustainability, ensures we remain at the forefront of the industry, demonstrated by our long-standing relationships with major energy providers.

A day in the life of a Murphy Civil Project Manager includes being fully accountable for project delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within contract requirements and budget. You will set the overall standard on projects/contracts, identify and deliver project requirements, resolve issues in a controlled and timely manner, and ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed, and delivered. You will line manage Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, and Section Managers, maintain effective client relationship management, and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders on project progress. You will ensure operating plans are in place to secure sufficient resources and materials, resolve most operational issues, and escalate business-critical issues to the Project Director. You will be responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including delivery of gross margin, cost control, and other key commercial and financial metrics. You will also manage subcontractor performance to meet these targets.
