About the Role
A fantastic opportunity to join the Municipal Collections Finance team as a Senior Financial Analyst, supporting the business through delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis to enable informed business decision-making. This role will develop strong technical and commercial finance skills through business partnering with operational stakeholders, maintaining robust financial controls, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial and operational performance. You will be a key support in the regional leadership team, attending team meetings and providing financial insight.

Your core responsibilities include supporting the Regional General Managers (RGMs) to deliver budgets and forecasts for the year through period end and mid-month, being part of the RGMs leadership team with regular meetings and one-to-ones, posting journals above gross margin while proactively correcting source data to reduce journal adjustments, and leading conversations with the central team to ensure accuracy of journal submissions and understand variances for your regions. You will prepare monthly management accounts including variance analyses and bridges, hold monthly meetings with the business to discuss variances, use KPI data proactively to challenge the business and agree actions, and ensure follow-up and tracking of these actions.

Additional responsibilities include preparing and leading the budget process for your area and presenting to RGMs and senior finance, completing balance sheet reconciliations ensuring postings are correct and compliant with accounting standards, taking ownership of all external and internal audit queries for the region, using site visits to identify efficiency opportunities, leading efficiency programmes for each region, and overseeing monthly CAPEX and cashflow reporting to drive business efficiency.

Experience
Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA. Experience working with and supporting operational and commercial staff across multiple locations. Management accounting experience in the service, logistics or waste industries is an advantage. Advanced Excel skills and strong computer literacy are essential.
