About the Role
The Water Consultancy Division at Mott MacDonald is a centre of excellence addressing water and wastewater challenges, offering diverse and technically challenging projects. Our work ensures safe water supplies for future generations and protects the environment. Our multi-disciplinary teams deliver services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory and feasibility studies to detailed design, construction support, and site supervision.

As a Senior Hydrologist, you will be a key member of our Water Resources and Flooding services, which encompass hydrology, hydrogeology, water quality, catchment management, climate resilience, hydraulic modelling, flood risk, computational fluid dynamics, and related disciplines.

We have a strong track record in hydrology and climate science, supporting UK and international water and hydropower sectors. Our clients demand improved predictions of climate change impacts on water availability and flood risk, and we innovate continuously to meet these needs. Our advanced rainfall-runoff models, weather generators, and proprietary digital tools enable us to analyse climate projections and meteorological forecasts effectively.

Our portfolio includes major UK water companies, the Environment Agency, and SEPA. Internationally, we support hydropower developers and lenders and conduct climate change risk and impact assessments at various scales.

Experience
Proven track record in hydrology or related disciplines with experience in delivering complex water resources and flood risk projects. Demonstrated ability to innovate and apply advanced hydrological and climate science techniques.

Qualifications
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in hydrology, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline. Continued professional development and commitment to staying current with advances in the field.
