About the Role

We are currently recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our MEICA Water team, focusing on some of the UK's most technically challenging projects and AMP8 programmes.

As part of a growing water sector engineering team, you will work alongside delivery partners in the north of England and design-and-build contractors and water utility clients in the south. With frameworks extending into AMP9, this role offers the opportunity to build lasting relationships, develop your career within a stable pipeline of work, and contribute to shaping resilient water infrastructure for the future.

In this role, you will support and lead mechanical design and advisory services related to new and existing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team environment, applying the latest digital design processes and resources. Your responsibilities will include ensuring safety through design leadership, identifying innovative technical solutions, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and maintaining compliance with technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards.

You will also play a key role in establishing and growing client and partner relationships, capturing project knowledge and innovations, and promoting the MEICA team’s capabilities both internally and externally. Experience
- Significant experience and proven track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex engineering projects, preferably within the water and wastewater industry.
- Experience working on design and construct projects using digital design platforms.
- Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience.
- Team leadership experience with collaborative behaviours.

Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related discipline.
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or approaching) with membership of a relevant professional institution such as IMechE, IET, or CIWEM.
