About the Role
Balfour Beatty is seeking a Site Engineer to join our Power portfolio, supporting the delivery of multi-utility diversion works on the Lower Thames Crossing – Roads North of the Thames (RNOT) programme. This major infrastructure project involves relocating or protecting electricity, gas, water, wastewater, and telecommunications assets prior to highways and structures construction. As a Site Engineer, you will ensure engineered solutions are correctly implemented on site, set teams to work, and ensure delivery is safe, compliant, and right first time. You will collaborate closely with Construction Managers, Project Engineers, and subcontractors to manage day-to-day site activities, technical delivery, and construction quality.
Your responsibilities will include implementing engineering designs, technical information, and drawings into construction delivery; setting out in accordance with project scope; supervising site activities; supporting multi-utility works delivery; managing subcontractors including monitoring attendance, progress, and quality; ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards with a strong focus on Zero Harm; preparing and reviewing RAMS; maintaining accurate site records; supporting project governance through meetings and reporting; contributing to planning activities including resource planning and programme delivery; and monitoring quality through assurance activities and audits.

Experience
Relevant site experience in the construction industry is essential. Experience managing subcontractors and site teams is required. People management and relationship management skills are important. Knowledge of project management methodology and commercial awareness including budgetary and financial control are expected.
About you
You are comfortable working with ambiguity and able to lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex operational and commercial challenges. You can work effectively across conflicting interest groups to develop practical solutions. You hold a full UK driving licence and demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
HNC, HND, Degree in an engineering discipline or another relevant engineering qualification and/or equivalent experience.
