Description

Location
Cricklewood, North West London with a base in North London - Woodford - E17 3PR. You will cover a wider area and drive between several different sites, so a full clean UK driving licence is essential.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 15:36, with the option for overtime which is paid additionally.

Salary
From £29,323 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

About the Role
As a Strategic Field Technician, you will support the Strategic Network Upgrade programme across North London and occasionally assist the wider team in South London to achieve KPI targets. You will take ownership of Network Upgrade projects, support team members, and provide cover during absences. Your responsibilities include supporting network activities during asset failures while ensuring water quality compliance, minimising and preventing supply interruptions, liaising with customers to resolve issues, and developing strong working relationships across the clean water business.
You will support Network Asset Maintenance during network events and help meet business targets. Acting as a local network expert, you will provide information for risk assessments, share network risk and Health & Safety information, and investigate network issues such as poor asset performance, pressure irregularities, leakage, metering queries, and supply interruptions.
This role requires flexibility to support the entire Thames Water operational strategic asset area as business needs demand.

Requirements

Experience
Good knowledge of water network processes is desirable but not essential. Relevant water network experience is highly desirable to understand and implement Permit to Work, mains isolation packs, and guided methods of work according to Water Network Standards.

About you
You should be able to work independently to deliver work streams within SLAs and manage overtime usage fairly and controllably. Competence in using company IT systems and office software is required, with preference for experience in GIS, Z-One, Sample Manager, and MS Teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a high level of attention to detail, are essential. A full UK driving licence is mandatory.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required; however, relevant water network knowledge and experience are advantageous.
