About the Role
Are you ready to take the next step in your career and lead high-profile groundwater projects? As Technical Director - Hydrogeology Lead at WSP, you will direct a diverse portfolio of projects within the Catchment Science team of our Sustainable Water Management Consulting group. This role involves leading groundwater and water resources modelling, groundwater flooding, monitoring, water quality, hydrogeological conceptualisation, and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to support decision making on nationally important projects.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of groundwater capability by mentoring junior and mid-level hydrogeologists, developing structured training programs, and leading capability growth and succession planning over the next five years. You will influence the technical direction of a national team, contribute to innovation, define project scopes, and collaborate closely with senior leaders across Sustainable Water Management and Ground and Water specialists.

In addition, you will help secure future work by preparing high-quality proposals, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting framework delivery to maintain and grow a strong project pipeline. Collaboration is key, and you will work across disciplines and with international WSP colleagues to deliver integrated project outcomes.

Our Catchment Science team provides expert services in water resources, hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, hydroecology, and hydrogeology to a wide range of high-profile clients including government departments, water industry, power, transport, nuclear, mining, commercial, and oil and gas sectors. With significant growth in demand across the UK Water Company Sector and regulators, this role offers a dynamic and supportive environment for a motivated individual to fulfil their potential and contribute to landmark projects worldwide.
