About the Role

Join us as a Traffic Dispatcher at our Newchapel depot and play a key role in supporting day-to-day depot operations through effective vehicle allocation to ensure best-in-class service delivery.

You will maintain all Health and Safety standards and ensure environmental and O Licence compliance. The role also involves hands-on support with employee engagement, continuous improvement projects, and activities related to productivity and quality of service provision.

Key responsibilities include managing operational staff to achieve excellent service delivery, optimising route efficiency and disposal outlet use, debriefing staff daily to resolve challenges swiftly, managing driver availability in line with legislation, performing administrative duties such as pay and bonus input, controlling vehicle availability and checks, supporting the Depot Manager with training and inductions, and resolving service and invoice queries in collaboration with Customer Services.

Experience
- Experience in a similar role within the Services or Logistics industry
- Experience in people management and health and safety management
- Strong knowledge of the local area
- Knowledge of the Transport and Logistics industry is desirable
- Understanding of environmental and Health & Safety legislation
- Experience in first line operational management

- Exceptional communication skills, able to communicate effectively in writing, one-to-one, and via phone with all levels including management, team members, and customers
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively
- Experience working to strict deadlines in a time-critical environment
- Willingness to adapt and develop skills and knowledge as required by the role and business
- Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
