38 hours per week: 8 am to 4 pm on normal days, 8 am to 5:15 pm on rostered days plus any call-outs, and 8 am to 3:15 pm at weekends plus any call-outs

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to step right into the heart of Thames Water’s operation, representing the company in the field and playing a vital role in safeguarding the quality of our water. Each year, over 500,000 checks are carried out on samples taken from treatment centres, reservoirs, and across the network to ensure the water reaching customers’ taps is clean, safe, and of the highest standard. As a Customer Water Quality Officer, you will be frequently travelling between different customers and sites, working as part of a lively team covering a large area. Your main responsibility will be testing water samples in domestic homes and businesses. You will manage your sampling records and maintain sampling equipment, ensuring all are kept to industry standards. Occasionally, you may assist with investigating supply issues or customer complaints. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in communities by ensuring water quality and safety.

Requirements

Experience
Confident driving experience in medium-sized vehicles in busy, high-traffic areas. Customer-facing experience is essential, with comfort visiting domestic homes and businesses.

About you
Organised and able to plan your routes effectively. Comfortable working independently and managing your own day. Attention to detail and good computer literacy are important as this is a technical role requiring adherence to detailed procedures. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued. Knowledge of the water industry is a plus but not essential.

Qualifications
Must hold a clean manual driving licence.
