About the Role
Join Biffa Waste Services as a Yard Operative and help keep our communities clean. You will assist in the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the transfer station, supporting the general public visiting the site and ensuring waste is segregated effectively for recycling. Your responsibilities include picking and segregating waste within the site and yard areas, cleaning yard spaces, advising and assisting centre users to maximise recycling efforts, and redirecting commercial customers while maintaining a professional corporate image. You will adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, environmental, and operational requirements, ensuring correct PPE is worn at all times. This role requires a commitment to safety for yourself and your colleagues, with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.

Experience
Customer service skills with the ability and willingness to assist members of the public and other site users. Good communication skills and experience in dealing with the public. Basic record keeping skills.
