Our environmental Ground & Water specialists support clients in the successful assessment and investigation of Brownfield land, supporting development proposals and commercial decisions. The team is also involved in the demolition and decommissioning of entire non-operational power stations and managing small, specialised redundant plants within active process areas. We are looking for graduates with a flexible approach and an appetite to learn to join our leading Engineering and Professional Advisory consultancy. You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment applying your skills across a diverse range of clients and projects.

We are recruiting for graduates in the following teams and locations:
- Contaminated Land: Manchester, Glasgow or Bristol
- Demolition and Decommissioning: Flexible location

About the Teams and Projects
Contaminated Land: As a graduate in this team, you will support geo-environmental, contaminated land and hydrogeology projects. You will play a key role in day-to-day project delivery, working closely with project managers and directors, including significant periods on site. Activities include investigating, assessing and remediating contaminated sites, progressing from fieldwork to reporting, client liaison and project management. Typical tasks:
- Phase 1 desk study research and reporting
- Phase 2 site investigation design, supervision, soil sampling, soil logging, subcontractor management
- Human health and water environment risk assessment and reporting
- Adherence to technical, engineering and health and safety best practices
- Client and subcontractor communication
- Environmental site monitoring, data collection and management
- Preparation and factual checking of ground investigation reports

Demolition and Decommissioning: This predominantly site-based role involves travel across the UK and potentially internationally. You will support decommissioning, demolition and remediation projects requiring significant sitework and working away. You will monitor operations and gain experience to progress towards supervision and management of works. Suitable for graduates with backgrounds in Demolition Management, Construction Management, Health, Safety and Environment or Engineering. Typical tasks:
- Attendance at site briefings, meetings and workshops
- Observation and reporting of contractor works
- Assisting clients with planning, programming and addressing decommissioning challenges
- Data gathering and surveying
- Client and contractor liaison
- Operational assistance in project delivery

Projects include ground investigations for major infrastructure such as HS2 and Heathrow, remediation of former gasworks and petrochemical sites, nuclear industry support, infrastructure and water schemes, and power station decommissioning and demolition.

Requirements

Experience
Graduates with a minimum 2:2 in a relevant master's or bachelor's degree. Experience is not mandatory but a flexible approach and eagerness to learn are essential.

Qualifications
