About the Role
Join WSP and contribute to landmark contaminated land and geo-environmental projects of regional and national significance. As a Principal Consultant, you will support contaminated land assessment and remediation projects, managing site investigations, supervising fieldwork, and preparing technical reports. Your responsibilities will include project and task management, site investigation design, data collation and interpretation, client relationship development, and ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Experience
- Knowledge of planning, designing, and managing site investigations
- Understanding and application of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
- Familiarity with the UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment approaches
- Report writing skills, presenting complex technical information clearly and accurately
- Data handling experience; GIS knowledge is desirable
- Understanding of various regulatory regimes including development planning consenting, environmental permitting, due diligence, nuclear site end states, and environmental impact assessment
- Expertise in specialist technical areas such as quantitative risk assessment, waste/material management, radiological characterisation, hydrogeology, and remediation

Qualifications
- Relevant technical degree in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, environmental science, or related discipline
- Working towards or willing to work towards Chartership/Professional Qualification (e.g. QP) with a relevant institution
