We are currently recruiting a Bricklaying Apprentice to join a large construction contractor working on a residential new build and social housing project in Lambeth. This is a full-time paid apprenticeship ideal for someone ready to learn a skilled trade and build hands-on experience in modern brickwork and blockwork on active construction sites.
This role is open to applicants who live in the London Borough of Lambeth under Section 106 local labour requirements.
What You Will Do:
Assist qualified bricklayers in constructing and repairing walls, partitions, and structural elements
Learn how to lay bricks, blocks, and mortar accurately following plans and site specifications
Mix materials including mortar and concrete as required
Prepare surfaces and carry out basic measuring, setting out, and levelling
Contribute to bricklaying works as part of a wider new build construction programme
Follow all site safety procedures and learn proper use of hand tools and masonry equipment
Attend college and complete coursework toward your Level 2 or Level 3 Bricklaying Apprenticeship, depending on your existing qualifications
Maintain tools and workspaces and follow daily work instructions
Keep accurate records of completed work and tasks
Communicate professionally with supervisors, site teams, and other trades
What We Are Looking For:
Aged 18 or over
Resident of the London Borough of Lambeth (required under Section 106)
4 GCSEs including English and Maths (or equivalent)
Valid CSCS card (essential)
Level 2 Construction or Bricklaying qualification (desirable)
Willingness to complete a Level 2 or 3 Bricklaying Apprenticeship depending on entry level
Punctual, reliable, and eager to develop trade skills
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Physically fit and comfortable working on construction sites and at height
Interest in masonry, structural work, or the wider construction industry
Experience in bricklaying or manual trades (desirable but not essential)
