We are currently recruiting a Carpentry & Joinery Apprentice to join a large new-build construction site in Lewisham. This opportunity is open only to residents of the London Borough of Lewisham as part of a local employment initiative.
What You’ll Do:
Work alongside skilled tradespeople to develop hands-on carpentry and joinery skills
Assist in the construction of a large new-build development
Carry out physical site tasks, often outdoors and sometimes at height
Learn how to interpret drawings, measure, cut and install timber-based components
Follow the guidance of a site supervisor and mentor to complete the work-based element of your Level 2 qualification
Receive regular support and mentoring to ensure successful progress throughout your apprenticeship
Attend college or training centre as required for your qualification
Maintain good site discipline, punctuality, and health and safety awareness
What We’re Looking For:
Aged 18 or over (no upper age limit)
Resident of the London Borough of Lewisham (essential)
Strong work ethic and commitment to completing the apprenticeship
Good communication, teamwork, and attention to detail
Manual or site-based experience preferred (Skills Centre experience accepted)
Working towards or completed a Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery
GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
Valid CSCS card required
Positive reference from a college tutor or training provider
Pay:
£12.25 per hour
£490 per week
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (40 hours per week)
