We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Painter & Decorator to join a residential new build site in South Thamesmead. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to gain hands-on experience in decorating and work alongside skilled professionals in a supportive team environment.

Please note: You must live in one of the following postcodes to be eligible due to local employment requirements: DA1, DA5–DA8, DA14–DA18, SE2, SE9, SE28.

What You’ll Do:
• Learn to prepare surfaces and apply a range of paints, varnishes, stains, wall fabrics and sealers
• Assist with stripping walls, sanding, filling holes and cracks
• Practice how to measure and cut wallpaper and other decorative materials using specialist tools
• Support interior and exterior decorating projects across different site areas
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Work as part of a team and follow instructions from your supervisor
• Shadow a qualified decorator while building practical skills on site

What We’re Looking For:
• Aged 16–19 preferred (apprenticeship rate applies)
• GCSEs in English and Maths (grades 4–9)
• If you do not hold GCSEs, you can complete Functional Skills alongside your apprenticeship
• A valid red CSCS card is essential for working on active construction sites
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
• A good attitude, punctuality, and the ability to work as part of a team
• Commitment to completing an apprenticeship training programme

Pay:
£7.55 per hour (apprentice rate – year one)

Hours:
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Standard working hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm
