About the Role
As an Assistant Consultant within WSP's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team, you will support the management and delivery of environmental consultancy services across a diverse range of projects. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and providing technical input into EIAs, assisting with environmental management tasks, and contributing to the preparation of key project documentation. You will work closely with project managers on tasks such as site selection reports for offshore wind farms, liaising with technical specialists to develop mitigation measures, and implementing the latest digital EIA approaches. Additional duties include coordinating land access for EIA surveys, contributing to stakeholder engagement strategies, and assisting with the finalisation of Environmental Statements ready for submission.

Experience
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant environmental discipline with strong emphasis on EIA and/or SEA
- Relevant postgraduate experience in a similar role within the UK or comparable environmental planning systems
- Experience or interest in assisting with specialist environmental surveys such as ecology, noise, or air quality monitoring
- Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required
About You
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of health and safety principles
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work effectively within a team environment
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in environmental science, planning, or a related field preferred
- Practical knowledge of technical disciplines relevant to EIA
- Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or another professional association is desirable
- Sound understanding of UK environmental and planning legislation, particularly relating to EIA
