As an Assistant Consultant in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team, you will support the management and delivery of environmental consultancy services to a wide range of clients. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and providing technical input into EIAs, undertaking broader environmental management tasks, and assisting project managers with various project elements such as site selection reports for offshore wind farms.
You will assist in developing mitigation measures, implementing the latest digital EIA approaches, coordinating land access for surveys including archaeological investigations, contributing to stakeholder engagement strategies, and helping to finalise Environmental Statements ready for submission.
You will be part of a dynamic, enthusiastic, and supportive EIA team, working alongside highly experienced practitioners who will support your personal and professional development. Experience
- Relevant postgraduate experience in a similar role within the UK or a jurisdiction with a comparable environmental planning system
- Experience or interest in assisting with specialist environmental surveys such as ecology, noise, or air quality monitoring
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- High level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel to client locations across the UK and internationally if required
- Understanding of health and safety excellence

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant environmental discipline with strong emphasis on EIA and/or SEA
- Postgraduate qualification in environmental science, planning, or a related field preferred
- Practical knowledge of some or all technical disciplines required for EIA
- Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or another relevant professional association is desirable
- Sound understanding of relevant UK environmental and planning legislation, particularly in EIA
