About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to contribute to landmark projects and work alongside some of the brightest minds in environmental consultancy. As an Assistant Consultant in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team, you will support the management and delivery of environmental consultancy services across a diverse client base. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and providing technical input into EIAs, assisting project managers with site selection reports for offshore wind farms, and collaborating with technical specialists to develop mitigation measures.
You will also assist in implementing the latest digital EIA approaches, coordinate land access for EIA surveys such as archaeological investigations, contribute to stakeholder engagement strategies, and help finalise Environmental Statements ready for submission.

Experience
- Relevant postgraduate experience in a similar role within the UK or a jurisdiction with a comparable environmental planning system
- Experience or interest in assisting with specialist environmental surveys such as ecology, noise, or air quality monitoring
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- High level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel to client locations across the UK and internationally if required
- Understanding of health and safety excellence

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant environmental discipline with a strong emphasis on EIA and/or SEA
- Postgraduate qualification in environmental science, planning, or a related field preferred
- Sound understanding of UK environmental and planning legislation, particularly relating to EIA
- Practical knowledge of some or all technical disciplines required for an EIA
- Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or another relevant professional association is desirable
