About the Role
As an Assistant Consultant in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team at WSP, you will support the management and delivery of environmental consultancy services to a diverse range of clients. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and providing technical input into EIAs, assisting with broader environmental management tasks, and contributing to various projects such as offshore wind farm site selection reports. You will work closely with technical specialists to develop mitigation measures, implement the latest digital EIA approaches, coordinate land access for surveys including archaeological investigations, contribute to stakeholder engagement strategies, and assist in finalising Environmental Statements for submission.

Experience
- Relevant postgraduate experience in a similar role within the UK or a jurisdiction with a comparable environmental planning system
- Experience or interest in assisting with specialist environmental surveys such as ecology, noise, or air quality monitoring
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- High level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel to client locations across the UK and internationally if required
- Understanding of health and safety excellence

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant environmental discipline with strong emphasis on EIA and/or SEA
- Postgraduate qualification in environmental science, planning, or a related field preferred
- Practical knowledge of some or all technical disciplines required for EIA
- Sound understanding of relevant UK environmental and planning legislation, particularly in EIA
- Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or another professional association is desirable
