We are seeking an experienced Associate / Associate Director to join our Environmental Consents nationwide team. This strategic role involves identifying, winning, and delivering multi-disciplinary inputs to a range of energy projects for a wide client base, including some of the UK's most important infrastructure projects supporting the UK’s Net Zero commitments.
As part of one of the largest environmental consultancies in the UK, you will work with technical environmental specialists and design teams across multiple sectors to lead environmental inputs to project designs and assessments. You will influence and improve environmental performance across diverse projects, with responsibilities including recruitment, bidding, project team management, delivery, and financial oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and delivering environmental elements of engineering projects
- Expanding and diversifying our water sector offering alongside sector leads and client managers
- Providing environmental advice and support to clients and colleagues
- Promoting sustainable design and environmental enhancement
- Managing large, complex projects ensuring technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety standards
- Building and maintaining client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Leading business development activities including proposals, bids, and marketing
- Driving innovation through initiatives such as Digital EIA and Future Ready EIA
- Supporting team performance, career development, and fostering a positive team culture

Experience
- Proven experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) delivery for major water schemes
- Familiarity with consenting processes such as Habitats Regulations Assessments and SSSI Consents
- Thorough knowledge of a wide range of environmental issues
- Demonstrable track record of developing and upskilling internal teams
- Proven line management experience
- Evidence of successfully driving business growth
