We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director to join our Environmental Consents nationwide team. This role is strategically significant and offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to identify, win and deliver multi-disciplinary inputs to a range of energy projects for a wide client base. Our current portfolio includes some of the UK's most important and transformational infrastructure projects, supporting the UK’s Net Zero commitments.
You will work with a range of technical environmental specialists and design teams across multiple sectors to direct and lead environmental teams and inputs to project designs and assessments. You will be instrumental in improving environmental performance across diverse projects. This role suits an enthusiastic individual looking to influence, lead and deliver environmental elements of engineering projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading large, complex projects and overseeing technical, quality, commercial and health and safety performance
- Providing environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues
- Driving business growth through client relationship building, marketing, and securing new work
- Leading innovation in techniques such as Digital EIA, Technical Excellence, and Future Ready EIA
- Promoting an inclusive workplace and supporting team culture and career development
- Contributing to the success of WSP’s business strategy while being self-motivated towards goals relevant to the role and projects
Experience
- Proven experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) delivery for major water schemes
- Familiarity with consenting processes such as Habitats Regulations Assessments and SSSI Assents
- Thorough knowledge of a diverse range of environmental issues
- Proven line management experience
- Track record of developing and upskilling internal teams
- Demonstrated success in driving business growth
