We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director to join our Environmental Consents nationwide team. This role is strategically significant and offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to identify, win and deliver multi-disciplinary inputs to a range of energy projects for a wide client base. Our portfolio includes some of the UK's most important and transformational infrastructure projects that support the UK’s Net Zero commitments.
As an Associate Director, you will work with technical environmental specialists and design teams across multiple sectors to lead environmental inputs to project designs and assessments. You will be instrumental in improving environmental performance across diverse projects and will have responsibility for recruitment, bidding, project team management, delivery, and financial oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading environmental elements of engineering projects and large, complex projects
- Providing environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues
- Collaborating with diverse teams to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement
- Playing a key role in expanding our water sector offering and winning new business
- Building and maintaining client relationships and identifying new opportunities
- Leading business development activities including proposal development and strategic bids
- Driving innovation through initiatives such as Digital EIA and Future Ready EIA
- Promoting team culture, supporting career development and fostering an inclusive workplace
- Upholding health, safety and wellbeing standards while contributing to WSP’s business strategy
Experience
- Proven experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) delivery for major water schemes
- Familiarity with consenting processes such as Habitats Regulations Assessments and SSSI Assents
- Demonstrable line management experience
- Track record of developing and upskilling internal teams
- Evidence of successfully driving business growth
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications
