As an Associate Director based out of our London office, you will provide technical leadership to our design teams and use your knowledge and skills to deliver the right quality to time and budget. You will lead design teams and mentor junior team members.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and nurturing excellent relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded
- Displaying strong interpersonal and communication skills, thriving both independently and collaboratively
- Managing and executing projects within agreed timeframes and budgets
- Overseeing a team producing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports
- Being very proficient in detailed drainage design through to construction
- Leading a team in the preparation and submission of S104 applications and providing drainage design support for S106 and S278 designs
- Utilising comprehensive understanding of industry guidelines including NPPF, SuDS Manual, The Design and Construction Guidance, and related technical standards
- Reviewing technical reports and effectively conveying complex technical information clearly and concisely
- Leading discussions with Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA), Environment Agency (EA) and Water Authorities (WA)
- Championing health and safety practices within the workplace and during the design process
- Mentoring and developing the skills of junior team members, fostering their professional growth

The Development Team is a well-established, high performing part of the Planning and Development discipline, comprising over 800 colleagues focused on project delivery through the whole project life cycle, from initial land acquisition, planning support and design, through to scheme implementation and handover. Requirements

Experience
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or CIWEM
- Proven track record in building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Strong experience in preparing and submitting S104 applications and providing drainage design support for S106 and S278 designs
- Detailed knowledge of industry guidelines such as NPPF, SuDS Manual, The Design and Construction Guidance, and relevant technical standards
- Excellent technical report writing and review skills
- Experience providing strategic direction and highly visible leadership
- Track record in securing new workstreams and generating new business opportunities in the Development sector/market
- Experience leading Development/Development Infrastructure projects and driving business development through local networks
- Experience mentoring and coaching mid-career professionals in client management, project management and leadership roles
- Experience leading and supporting bids by contributing, reviewing and authorising submissions with commercial and technical added value
- Commitment to health and safety and corporate responsibility, ensuring team compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality)

Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or CIWEM is essential
