We are actively seeking an Associate Technical Director to join our Water & Utilities MEICA team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and consolidating relationships across Arcadis and our client base, managing the technical delivery and design outputs of some of the UK's most complex and stimulating projects in the Water sector.
This role sits within our Resilience Global Business Area, where we work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. As climate change, rapid urbanization, and biodiversity loss increase the frequency of large-scale events such as floods and wildfires, our mission is to safeguard natural resources and ensure sustainable water management.
Key responsibilities include working independently and collaboratively on complex mechanical detailed designs, supporting or leading design and advisory services for water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations, and ancillary assets. You will lead technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects using the latest digital design techniques, identify and develop innovative technical solutions, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA specialists. You will also establish and grow client and partner relationships, ensuring projects meet technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards. Additionally, you will have line management, mentoring, and performance development responsibilities for assigned staff.
Experience
- Significant experience in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects
- Experience working on design and construct projects using digital design
- Proven team leader with collaborative behaviours
- Water and/or wastewater sector experience is highly desirable

Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related discipline
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with membership of a professional institution such as IMechE, IET, or CIWEM
