About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects, collaborate with leading experts, and contribute to sustainable building solutions that the world needs. As an Associate/Associate Director Sustainability Consultant, you will support the delivery of sustainable building solutions on high-profile projects and major frameworks as part of a growing national team based in the London office.

You will be part of the Building Performance team, which provides energy, carbon, and holistic sustainability advice within the Built Environment. The team plays a central role in multi-disciplinary projects, coordinating all WSP disciplines towards sustainable design delivery. This includes sustainability and energy master planning for urban and semi-rural developments, and supporting BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and NABERS consulting services.

Reporting to a Regional Lead, you will help develop and grow the team’s offering across various sectors. This client-facing role involves helping clients define and achieve their strategic goals related to net zero operational energy, embodied carbon, and wider sustainability targets.

Your responsibilities will include leading sustainability delivery on diverse projects, managing your own portfolio as the sustainability lead, developing sustainability approaches for significant portfolios and frameworks, and increasing WSP’s industry profile. You will engage in business development activities, leverage client relationships, coordinate sustainability delivery across design teams, identify cross-selling opportunities, support team growth through recruitment and development, and prepare high-quality reports.

You will also apply current and emerging UK sustainability legislation to project solutions and contribute to the national Building Performance Network within the Building Services Practice.
