About the Role
Are you an experienced campaigns or communications professional with a proven track record of developing and delivering successful campaigns? If you are enthusiastic, hardworking, and creative, this role is for you. You will play a central role in building a movement of people taking multiple actions for nature, growing public demand to tackle the nature and climate crisis. You will coordinate and deliver a programme of public-facing campaigns that drive and empower public action in support of RSPB conservation, advocacy, and growing support priorities. With a strong understanding of the Northern Ireland Assembly and wider political landscape, you will adapt RSPBNI’s campaigns to seize opportunities and influence policy. You will also help grow our team of campaigning volunteers and work effectively with partners and stakeholders external to the RSPB. Excellent writing skills are essential to communicate complex or technical topics clearly and develop shared understanding of what nature needs to thrive. Strong planning, prioritisation, and project management skills are required to keep campaigns on track and meet deadlines. Experience
Educated to degree level with a minimum of two years’ experience in campaigning, policy, communications, or marketing OR equivalent relevant work experience. Demonstrable experience delivering multi-channel campaigns supporting initiatives or policy asks, including public-facing communications and advocacy. Proven ability to plan and deliver public-facing campaigns with clear strategies and plans that communicate key messages to priority audiences and drive action. Good understanding of the policy, political, and media landscape at UK and devolved levels, with experience interpreting and reacting to support project goals. Experience writing for media and online platforms and producing supporting photographic, audiovisual, and digital assets.
About you
Strong communication skills including listening, written, and verbal abilities. Able to communicate complex or technical topics clearly at all levels to develop shared understanding. Excellent social and interpersonal skills with the gravitas to influence key stakeholders and organise or participate in cross-functional project teams. Enthusiastic, hardworking, and creative with a passion for nature conservation and climate issues. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Qualifications
Degree level education or equivalent experience relevant to the role. Interest in nature conservation and global climate issues is desirable. Experience working with external agencies to develop communications campaigns and planning/managing events is an advantage.
