Hybrid - primarily field-based across the West Midlands, including Shropshire and Worcestershire.

Hours
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with flexibility to suit individual needs. Regular travel across the region, including weekend work and occasional national travel.

About the Role
We are seeking an inspiring and results-driven Regional Performance Manager (Face-to-Face Fundraising Area Manager) to lead a passionate team of up to eight Membership Fundraisers across the West Midlands. Your leadership will be key to growing RSPB membership while upholding the highest standards of ethical fundraising. You will coach and develop your team to achieve ambitious fundraising targets and deliver exceptional engagement experiences. This is a hands-on role where you will regularly work alongside your team in the field, providing support, coaching, and motivation.

You will collaborate closely with RSPB reserves in your region, including regular visits to sites such as Sandwell Valley and Middleton Lakes. You will also take a lead role in coordinating national events, including shows at the NEC, ensuring every opportunity to inspire support for nature is maximised.

Given the nature of the role, regular travel across the West Midlands is essential. A full UK driving licence is required or the ability to demonstrate effective travel arrangements across the region. Relocation support may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of Membership Fundraisers.
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture that reflects RSPB values.
- Monitor and analyse KPIs such as membership volume, average donation, Gift Aid uptake, and attrition.
- Use coaching and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage day-to-day logistics ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations and organisational standards.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Reserve Managers.
- Lead by example through active participation in field fundraising and public engagement.
- Flexibility to travel regularly across the region and support national events.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience managing high-performing teams in public engagement environments such as sales, fundraising, or retail.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Experience in monitoring and analysing performance metrics.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities with the capacity to balance multiple priorities.
- Confidence in giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Understanding of leadership frameworks such as SMART objectives, situational leadership, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to travel regularly across the West Midlands and wider region.

Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence or ability to demonstrate effective travel arrangements across the region.

Desirable
- Familiarity with the RSPB’s mission and values.
- Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and relevant codes of conduct.
