Role Overview

We are recruiting for a Carpentry Apprentice to join a construction team on site in Southwark.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who already has some carpentry knowledge or site experience and is now looking to progress further through a Level 3 apprenticeship. The role would suit someone who has already developed a foundation in carpentry and is ready to build on this in a live site environment while learning from experienced tradespeople.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience or training in carpentry, a good attitude to work, and a genuine interest in developing their trade skills further on site.

Important Eligibility Information

This role is subject to Southwark Section 106 requirements.

You must currently live in the London Borough of Southwark to be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Support qualified carpenters with day to day tasks on site

• Assist with measuring, cutting, and preparing materials

• Learn to carry out carpentry work safely, accurately, and to a good standard

• Support first fix and second fix carpentry tasks as instructed

• Use tools and materials safely and correctly

• Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe

• Move tools and materials around site as needed

• Follow instructions from site supervisors and experienced tradespeople

• Work in line with health and safety requirements at all times

• Continue building practical trade skills while completing a Level 3 apprenticeship

What We’re Looking For

• Interest in carpentry and construction as a long term career

• Previous carpentry or site experience preferred

• Level 2 Carpentry qualification already achieved, or equivalent practical experience preferred

• Willingness to learn and develop further on the job

• Good attitude and reliable approach to work

• Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team

• Punctual, motivated, and keen to progress

• CSCS card preferred

• Must be eligible to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship

• Must live in Southwark

• Pay: Rate depends on the age of the candidate

• Hours: 40 hours per week

• Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

• Location: Southwark

• Start Date: TBC
