Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Contracts Manager to oversee projects (Pitched, Flat and Cladding Departments). This is a key leadership role within the business, responsible for managing multiple projects from inception through to successful completion. The successful candidate will ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and British Standards. The Contracts Manager will act as the primary link between clients, site operatives, suppliers, and the office team, ensuring clear communication and efficient project delivery.

Salary Range: £35,000-60,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage roofing and cladding projects from pre-start through to completion
  • Programming and scheduling
  • Design coordination and feasibility input
  • Logistics planning
  • Management of key dates and milestones
  • Ensure full understanding of job specifications and contract requirements
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Ensure works comply with British Standards, building regulations, and company quality procedures
  • Complete weekly progress reports and project completion reports
  • Support the compilation and submission of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals
  • Bring projects to completion on time and within budget
  • Maintain and update programmes weekly
  • Record and monitor labour, wages, and measures
  • Report financial progress to senior management
  • Schedule labour, plant, and subcontract resources effectively
  • Order materials in line with company procedures, ensuring correct Purchase Order (PO) processes are followed
  • Liaise promptly and professionally with customers regarding Programme updates, Update changes, Variations, Aftercare and project completion matters
  • Communicate daily/weekly site allocations clearly to operatives
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files and documentation
  • Submit required paperwork and reports to the office in a timely manner
  • Uphold company Health & Safety standards and ensure compliance across all managed sites
Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven experience managing roofing projects
  • Strong understanding of roofing systems
  • Liquid waterproofing systems
  • Tiling and slating
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commercial awareness and budget management experience
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, project programming software, reporting systems)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • SMSTS qualification (or higher)
  • First Aid at Work qualification
