We currently have an opportunity for a Civil Structural Senior Engineer - Rail to join our Rail North West team near Manchester. In this role, you will lead the delivery of civil and structural design packages for rail infrastructure projects, ensuring technical outputs meet project, client, and industry requirements. You will develop practical engineering solutions across a range of rail assets while supporting multidisciplinary project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include leading the delivery of civil and structural design packages, preparing and reviewing calculations, drawings, reports and technical deliverables, and developing engineering solutions for bridges, foundations, retaining structures, stations, and related rail infrastructure. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians, support design reviews and technical assurance activities, and manage design risks in line with project requirements and relevant standards. Ensuring compliance with Arcadis requirements, national standards, and codes of practice will be a key part of your role.

Experience
- Relevant civil or structural design experience within rail or major infrastructure projects
- Experience preparing and checking engineering calculations, drawings, and technical reports
- Knowledge of structural design principles, relevant codes, standards, and risk management
- Experience using structural analysis and design software is advantageous
- Experience providing technical guidance within engineering teams

Qualifications
- BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng, or equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with a relevant professional institution is desirable
