About the Role
The purpose of this role is to deliver a best-in-class procurement service through the development and implementation of procurement strategies in accordance with agreed procurement policies and processes. You will engage with the supply chain to deliver enhanced value to the Sizewell C project and support its commitments to stakeholders and local communities. Sizewell C is owned by EDF and HMG through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited, with evolving shareholdings and funding arrangements up to Financial Close.

The project encompasses the design, finance, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning of the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk, including activities related to hydrogen, direct air capture, and desalination.

Key objectives during the current development phase include agreeing and implementing the Capital Raise Plan, completing equity and debt raises, securing core supply chain contracts, and obtaining necessary regulatory permits and licences for construction.

In this role you will implement the Contracting Strategy and Delivery & Contracting Plan as directed by the CWA Procurement Lead, deliver procurement and supply chain commitments within the Programme Alliance Agreement, and work collaboratively to mitigate market risks and deliver project-wide efficiencies.

You will develop strategic and tactical plans to ensure appropriate supply chain resources, monitor supply chain performance, lead negotiations to achieve effective commercial outcomes, and support tendering, market analysis, supplier selection, risk assessments, and forecasting.

Additionally, you will attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team, foster an inclusive and progressive culture, support training and development, and ensure compliance with project governance, legislation, and nuclear regulations.

You will also develop the project supplier database linked to Compete For, monitor markets to provide alternative procurement strategies, build robust supplier relationships, assist in local, diverse, and SME engagement strategies, and lead the implementation of the Sustainable Procurement Plan.

Throughout all activities, you will maintain a relentless focus on “Zero Harm” to ensure safety and wellbeing.
