We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of a commercial multi-storey project featuring a steel frame structure. If you have a proven track record managing complex builds from groundwork to fit-out, and you thrive in ensuring safe, timely, and quality project delivery, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the construction site.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials deliveries, plant usage, and workforce planning.
- Manage steel frame erection ensuring alignment with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Monitor progress against programme and proactively resolve delays or issues.
- Enforce strict adherence to health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and client representatives.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections.
- Maintain accurate site records including diaries, progress reports, and inspections.
- Lead site meetings and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Manage snagging and handover process through to practical completion.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial projects, ideally multi-storey steel-framed structures.
- SMSTS certification.
- Valid CSCS card (Black or Gold).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Strong technical understanding of steel frame erection and commercial build sequencing.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of building regulations, CDM, and current H&S legislation.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Management or similar.
- Temporary Works Coordinator or Appointed Person certification.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or large-scale commercial developers.
