We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Decorator to join a residential construction project in the London Borough of Richmond. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on site experience and build the skills needed to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating.
Please note: It is a requirement to live in Richmond, Kingston upon Thames, or Hounslow due to Section 106 local employment obligations. Applicants from outside these boroughs will not be considered.
What You’ll Do
• Prepare walls and woodwork for decorating
• Learn how to apply paint, primer, and gloss finishes
• Practice techniques including rolling, cutting in, and surface protection
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Understand materials, minimise waste, and protect stored goods
• Follow all health and safety protocols on site
• Work as part of a team under supervision
• Load and manage materials responsibly
• Keep to time and complete assigned tasks professionally
What We’re Looking For
• Must live in Richmond, Kingston upon Thames, or Hounslow
• Valid CSCS card (essential)
• Level 1 Diploma in a construction trade (minimum)
• Experience on site or previously started an apprenticeship (preferred)
• Strong practical skills and willingness to learn
• Good communication, punctuality, and teamworking
• 18+ and physically fit to work on a busy site

National Minimum Wage

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
