As we progress through AMP8 – our most ambitious asset management period to date – we’re delivering nature-based and sustainable infrastructure, from wetlands to urban drainage schemes, setting new benchmarks for environmental performance.
As the Design Manager for Water Recycling West, you will lead the engineering design delivery of a diverse portfolio of water recycling projects across the region. You will head up a multidisciplinary engineering team, driving innovative and sustainable solutions that improve wastewater treatment performance, reduce carbon footprint and enhance natural capital.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design delivery of a portfolio of water recycling and wastewater projects
- Developing and managing Engineering Project Plans covering scope, programme, cost, risk and resources
- Directing multidisciplinary teams across process, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering to deliver high-quality design solutions
- Collaborating with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure integrated designs
- Driving affordability, value and delivery of low-carbon, environmentally sustainable solutions
- Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout the design process
- Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing engineering team
- Supporting innovation, standardisation and effective use of digital engineering including 3D modelling
- Working closely with wider Alliance functions including delivery, procurement and construction to achieve successful project outcomes
Join us and play a leading role in shaping innovative, sustainable water recycling solutions that create long-term benefits for our customers, communities and the environment.
