About the Role
At M Group Energy, we deliver essential infrastructure services across electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation. Join our Metering team, the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters. Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.
As a Dual Fuel Engineer Meter Operator, you will investigate, detect, and prevent gas and electricity theft in residential and commercial properties. You will ensure installations are made safe and collaborate with suppliers to determine further actions. Collecting evidence and providing information to clients to support decision-making will be part of your responsibilities.
Your role will also involve debt recovery tasks, including installing SMART meters or de-energising/disconnecting supplies. You will demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service skills, remaining calm and composed in challenging situations.

Experience
Experience installing gas and electric smart meters is required. Previous experience as a Revenue Protection Officer or in conflict management is useful but not essential.
About you
You must have strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. A positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset is essential. You must hold a valid full UK driving licence with less than 6 points.
Qualifications
CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1
NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) / MOCOPA
Nice to have but not essential: 3-phase qualification / CT / Medium Pressure
