About the Role

As a Smart Meter Dual Fuel Engineer, you will join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, delivering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.

Your role will involve exchanging traditional meters for smart meters and responding to emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of E.ON NEXT, ensuring customers’ smart meters are working correctly. You will complete around 5 jobs per day, travelling around your area using a tablet to manage your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance.

Customer service is a top priority; you will explain the benefits and safe usage of smart meters to customers. Continuous training will be provided to maintain and develop your skills, with a strong focus on health and safety. You will be supported by weekly meetings, catch ups, and field managers who are always available to assist.

Our smart metering partnership with E.ON NEXT is in its twelfth year, built on continuous high performance and multiple contract extensions. There are excellent opportunities for career progression, with 83% of our field management team promoted internally from engineer roles.

Experience
Experience installing gas and electric smart meters is required. Previous MOCOPA experience to a multi-rate level is desirable.

You must hold a valid UK driving licence for at least 1 year with fewer than 6 points. You enjoy working independently, engaging with customers, and are motivated to deliver excellent service. You are committed to health and safety and eager to develop your skills through continuous training.

Qualifications
Essential qualifications include CCN1, CMA1, CMA3 all with MET1, or an NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel.
Bonus qualifications include REGT1 (Medium Pressure) and 3 phase.
Registration on the EUSR portal is ideal but not essential.
