About the Role
At M Group Energy, we deliver essential infrastructure services across electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation. As a Smart Meter Dual Fuel Engineer within our Metering team, you will join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, delivering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
Your main responsibility will be exchanging traditional meters for smart meters and responding to emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of E.ON NEXT, ensuring customers’ smart meters operate correctly. You will complete around 5 jobs per day, providing excellent customer service by explaining the benefits and safe usage of smart meters.
You will travel around your area using a tablet to manage your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance. Continuous training will be provided to maintain and develop your skills. Health and safety is a priority, and your onboarding will prepare you to be an ambassador for safe working practices.

Experience
Experience installing gas and electric smart meters is required. Previous MOCOPA experience to a multi-rate level is desirable.
About you
You must hold a valid UK driving licence, held for at least 1 year with fewer than 6 points. You should enjoy working independently, engaging with customers, and have a strong commitment to health and safety. Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards continuous learning and career progression are essential.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include CCN1, CMA1, CMA3 all with MET1, or an NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel.
Bonus qualifications such as REGT1 (Medium Pressure) and 3 phase are advantageous but not essential. Ideally, you will be registered on the EUSR portal.
Additional £1000 salary enhancement available if authorised with 3 phase and/or Medium Pressure qualifications.
