Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities

Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with potential to increase by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team at the wastewater treatment site, Maple Lodge STW. In this role, you will use your electrical expertise to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. Your work will ensure our sites remain operational, helping to reduce pollution and improve Thames Water's environmental impact.

Your responsibilities will include undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, and escalating issues when necessary. You will carry out daily planned maintenance of plant and equipment and install new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations. Accurate recording of work and asset information will be essential to improve business performance and identify future risks.

Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, and training staff, including apprentices, will be part of your role. You will also deliver excellent customer service by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers.

All personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.

Requirements

Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. Experience with 18th Edition wiring regulations preferred but training can be provided.

Resilient and adaptable to work pressures and changing environments. Able to work independently with initiative and to design standards. Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety regulations. A team player who respects others, provides constructive feedback, and supports the development of colleagues. Full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification. 18th Edition preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
